This solo exhibition marks a pivotal moment in the artist’s creative journey, symbolically drawing a line between the past and the future.

 

With “Césure” (French for “cutting”), the artist acknowledges the need to sever ties with the aspects of his life that have hindered creativity through self-sabotage and doubt.

“Ouverture” (French for “opening”) represents the exhibitor’s acceptance of his identity as an artist, embracing all the risks, burdens and honors that this entails. In this exhibition, the artist celebrates this process of growth by presenting a selection of both recent and earlier works. Rather than a retrospective, this is an open door to the past and present of the artist’s visions, offering a glimpse into the future. From exercises and experiments on paper to the discovery of sculpture, the artist carves a path through the layers of his journey, offering the beholder an open portal into various dimensions of his personal and artistic evolution.

The exhibition runs from September 21st to November 17th 2024.  

– artist’s bio –

Gregorie Enrico Boris Berneri was born and raised in the Italian Alps, where his innate creativity and vivid imagination were evident from an early age. After relocating to Belgium in 2014, his passion for art was rekindled. In 2015, he began studying at the Academy of Beeldende Kunsten in Berchem, exploring various artistic disciplines. However, it was in 2019 that he found his true artistic voice through sculpture. Drawing inspiration from mythology, philosophy, and folklore, Berneri developed a unique symbolic language that continues to evolve. His work delves into the contrasts of human nature, exploring the interplay between darkness and light through his distinctive visual grammar.
